1800s Gatemarked #7 Long Griddle / Sad Iron Heater
Product Details
Brand: 1800s Gatemarked

This antique gatemarked long griddle / sad iron heater was manufactured in the 1800s by an unknown foundry. It has been fully restored, seasoned, and is ready to use. This long griddle sits completely flat with no wobble or spin, and there are no cracks, rust, or repairs. Measures 19-3/4 inches lengthwise from handle to handle, and 9-1/4 inches across from edge to edge. The cooking surface measures 15 inches long, 6 inches across, and 1 inch deep.

Sad iron heaters were originally used to heat irons on a coal or wood-burning stove. Nowadays, these long griddles are perfect for making pancakes, bacon, steaks, biscuits, vegetables, and more. They're especially great for use on the grill!

Our professional restoration process involves stripping each piece down to bare iron using electrolysis. This removes any old seasoning, rust, or carbon buildup. Pieces are then cleaned and seasoned a minimum of 3 times.

Please note that due to the nature of vintage and antique cast iron cookware, there may be blemishes, utensil marks, discoloration, or other imperfections. These will not affect performance, and often darken and improve with use.

See photos and videos for the most accurate description. Any blemishes or cosmetic imperfections will be disclosed. If you have any questions, please email us at campfiresandcastiron01@gmail.com and we'll be happy to help!
