Ingredients

Equipment

  • 9-cup (or larger) coffee percolator, or a large stockpot
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Pour apple cider, orange juice, and water into percolator or stockpot.
  2. Add whole cinnamon sticks, allspice, and cloves to percolator basket. (Note - Do not use a filter in the basket - it will not percolate properly). If using a stockpot, add them directly to the liquid in the pot.
  3. Heat the liquid in the percolator or stockpot to a simmer. If using a percolator, percolate gently for 20-30 minutes. If using a stockpot, simmer uncovered for 20-30 minutes. If the percolator starts to boil over, add 1/2 cup more water to dilute the cider and allow it to flow more freely through the strainer basket.
  4. Strain out spices prior to serving.
  5. Pour Homemade Spiced Apple Cider into mugs and enjoy!
